Another problem with extensive agriculture.
Bees are declining because they have to eat our ‘managed’ plants. Why not just let go of everything? Would that be so bad? Maybe the wildlife would autoregulate in the most optimized way.
When we are fishing in the wild oceans, we are exercising less control over nature. Sometimes, we might be overfishing but only because there is a market for it. That market can’t be sustained for long.
When I am not hungry and my fridge is full, I can’t buy more fish. My own security feeling should be in thinking that the ocean is plentiful and not that my fridge is full.
I think we should not try to submit nature to our will. We should try to live with it.
